Techmex S.A. company with its seat in Bielsko-Biała is active on the market since the year 1987. The company employs 250 personsand its annual turnover approximates USD 160 million. The company holds ISO 9001:2001 Certificate.

Techmex is a provider of advanced solutions in geoinformatics based on satellite technology. The company experiences rapid development in areas where new technology is applied, and its potential in this aspect enables it to attract clients from all around the world. The company commands a strong and highly recognizable brand name, which stands for innovativeness, the use of the latest technologies and advanced solutions, as well as the highest business standards. In May of 2004, the company made it to the prestigious group of firms quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

At present, the main direction of company development is the GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Strategic partners of the company are the likes of: GeoEye, DigitalGlobe, Intergraph, ESRI and Oracle. With the participation of the American business partner – Space Imaging (currently GeoEye) company, in October of 2004, Techmex set up the Satellite Centre for Regional Operations (SCOR), the latter being an operator of the American satellite Ikonos. The centre is the only satellite operation centre in the Central and Eastern Europe. The receiving station, located in Komorowo, nearby Ostrowia Mazowiecka, has been provided with advanced technology that until recently has been restricted for the sole use by the American military sector. The centre obtains from the Ikonos satellite high-resolution depictions of the surface of the Earth, which are used for generating spatial mappings of terrain that constitute the basic source of data for projects in: spatial planning, cadastre, infrastructure, environmental protection, national defence, telecommunications, and the power sector. It is the intention of the company to acquire the leading share in the domestic market of complex geoinformatics products devised on the basis of photographs and satellite orthophotomaps, and in the market of preparing digital vectorial data, with recourse to satellite data. Techmex S.A. holds an archive of high resolution satellite depictions covering an area of over 700 000 km2, characterized by high accuracy of up to 82 cm, i.e., being comparable with that of the maps drawn in the scale of 1:2500 - 1:5000.

The Satellite Centre for Regional Operations is the first project, nationwide, in the sphere of Spatial Information Systems (SIP), erected as part of the world-popular public-private partnership (PPP), initiated by the Techmex S.A. stock exchange quoted company, and the state-owned Agencja Mienia Wojskowego – Military Property Agency (representing in this project the Treasury and the Ministry for National Defence).

Techmex S.A. is a winner of several distinctions and awards being granted by business and sectorial circles. The company has been awarded, inter alia, the following titles: Firm of the Year in the years 2000 and 2004, and the Golden Processor award. The President of Techmex S.A. Management Board, Mr. Jacek Studencki, received a distinction: “Personality of the Market ‘98”, awarded by the magazine Computer Reseller News Polska, and in the year 2004, he won the Platinum Laurel of Skill and Competence – i.e., an award being granted to outstanding and unquestionable personalities, the activity of whose has a supraregional dimension. In February of 2007, Techmex company obtained the title of the Firm of the Year 2006 in the Employer of the Year category. In June of 2007, Jacek Studencki received the “Palma” distinction from the Teleinfo weekly, for the signing of contract with ARiMR, worth of PLN 16 million.
